Chattanooga Weekend

Last Friday Jace and I traveled to Chattanooga for a weekend of friends, fun, and one heck of a wedding. We had been looking forward to this weekend for several weeks now; sometimes it is just good to get away. We were looking forward to getting out of the swamp and see and feel Fall. Also, we couldn't wait to spend time with dear MC Law friends-some we hadn't seen since graduation. Needless to say we were excited for a mini-vacation.

Late Friday afternoon we traveled through most of GA and spent the night in Dalton, GA. The next morning we woke to trees that were vibrant reds and yellows, deep emerald greens and a touch of brown. It was nice to finally experience Fall. Don't get me wrong--the palm trees and Spanish moss in FL never get old but for these two Kentucky kids, we miss Fall. We started the day at Cracker Barrel and then made our way to Chattanooga. Once we arrived in Chattanooga, we visited Rock City. I had never been there before and really enjoyed it. The views were great!

After we toured Rock City, we traveled downtown for lunch and then it was time to start getting ready for Kennedy and Elizabeth's wedding. Kennedy and Jace went to law school and studied for the Bar together. Those boys lived in the trenches and came out on the other side!

Y'all there are weddings and then there are weddings. Kennedy and Elizabeth's wedding was a wedding! Elizabeth had literally thought of EVERYTHING, down to the welcome bags, transportation to and from the church and reception, food, flowers, the band, and so much more.  Words don't do it justice. The ceremony was moving and you know I had a tear here and there. Then it was time to celebrate! Chartered buses took guests to Lookout Mountain Country Club. The views at the top of the mountain were breathtaking. We arrived at sunset and everyone was quick to grab a picture before the sun set.

Cute date, huh!
We danced the night away, ate some amazing food and cake, and then sent those kids off with a sparkler send off! We had a great time and we so happy to share in their special day.

The weekend was great for many reasons but it was the people we got to share it with. Our friends from law school hold such a dear place in our heart. I have never met people who are so quick to love, to share in your success, pray for you, and who genuinely care. Jace and I only wish we could see everyone more.

The fun and celebration only continued as we traveled to Knoxville for Jace's swearing in ceremony. More on that later...
